sopes or gorditas press

A sopes or gorditas maker direct from Mexico. Mexican sopes are hollowed out rounds of masa filled with beans, chorizo, peppers, onions as well as other savory ingredients. The sopes press makes the process very fast. Just insert a ball of prepared masa in the center of the press and press down and the ball is flatened. A great tool for home chefs as well as restaurants. See link below for a recipe and more information. Can be used for making gorditas as well.

Dimensions 6"in diameter. The inset area is 4" in diameter by 1/4" high. Made of cast aluminum.

Please Note: While we don't recommend cast aluminum for tortilla presses it is perfectly adequate for pressing gorditas or sopes because there is not a lot of pressure required to form the masa cake.
