suribachi and surikogi blue design set

Japanese suribachi (mortar) and surikogi (pestle)made of earthenware in blue with a decorative border. Perfect for grinding, sesame seeds, herbs. This tool is used to make traditional dishes such as goma-miso (miso flavored with ground sesame) as well as dressings, and pastes. The bowl is 7.25" in diameter and the wooden pestle is 7" long. Also included is our "Tawashi" palm fiber scrubbing brush from Japan. It is said the brush was invented by a Japanese housekeeper who became very wealthy from the invention! The brush is useful for everything from scrubbing vegetables to cleaning your suribachi.
